Finch first started playing softball when she was five years old. Her home is in La Mirada, California. Doug Finch, her father was the very first coach of Jennie's pitching. Jennie began using the Finch Windmill in the year 10-years-old. In high school Jennie threw a six-hit games and 13 no-hitters. Her next stop was the University of Arizona where she was named an All-American three times and first baseman. The nation voted her the Most Outstanding Softball Player at the end of 2001 by the Wildcats when they won the championship. She also won in 2002.
